Research

Dr. Barrett’s research project seeks to understand how educational research is disseminated and accessed in Ireland. Dr. Barrett will be conducting interviews with a variety of stakeholders to achieve these aims. If you are an educator, educational policy-maker, or educational researcher in Ireland and interested in participating in the study, please click on the flyer below for more information.

Teaching

Dr. Barrett will be hosting a module titled, “Increasing the Impact of Social Sciences Research.” Too often, social sciences research does not reach the hands of those who need it most. In fact, estimates suggest that it can take over a decade for practices found effective through research to be implemented in practice. The overarching purpose of the module is to teach students and researchers about the research dissemination process so their findings can reach those who need it and make a positive impact in their communities.
